WHAT IS PRP and WHAT ARE PLATELETS?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a substance produced by your own body, which can be extracted and directly injected or infused into the skin to promote healing and reverse the physical signs of aging. Platelets are cells naturally found in blood that encourage healing.
HOW IT WORKS?
Our PRP treatment utilizes your super-concentrated platelets and microneedling procedure. By combining the two we encourage the growth of tissue with PRP that develops a mesh just as it does when healing an injury; and the stimulation of cells that remodels collagen fibers to improve skin’s elasticity, tone, and thickness. We also boost new vessel formation, which is crucial to oxygenate and nourish cells.
Once the platelet cells are extracted by drawing a small blood sample, they are agitated/centrifuged to separate the platelets and blood plasma from the red blood cells. The result is platelet-rich plasma that is then re-infused into the targeted areas to treat various conditions.
On skin, PRP works to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, brighten skin complexion, and promote skin elasticity by supplying platelet rich blood to the areas that need it most.
