What It Does

Pixel technology works on the concept of fractional photothermolysis. Instead of removing the entire top layer of skin, it creates microscopic thermal perforations (tiny holes) across the target area while leaving the surrounding tissue intact.

  • Triggers Natural Healing: The untouched skin surrounding the micro-injuries speeds up recovery and stimulates a rapid healing response.

  • Boosts Collagen + Elastin: The thermal damage deep in the dermis encourages long-term collagen production, tightening the skin over time.

  • Sheds Damaged Skin: As the tiny micro-wounds heal, old, hyperpigmented, and damaged outer skin cells flake off, revealing smoother skin underneath.

  • Refines Surface Texture: It evens out rough skin texture, reduces enlarged pores, and softens depressed acne scars.

Who It Is For

Pixel treatments are ideal for individuals looking for noticeable skin rejuvenation without committing to weeks of recovery.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Acne Scars + Texture Issues: People dealing with residual pitted scars, shallow boxcar scars, or uneven skin roughness.

  • Sun Damage + Hyperpigmentation: Anyone with sun spots, age spots, freckles, or uneven skin tone.

  • Early Signs of Aging: Individuals noticing fine lines, crow's feet, crepiness, or loss of firmness around the face, neck, chest, or hands.

  • Enlarged Pores: Those wanting to minimize visible pores and smooth out skin surface.

  • People Needing Low Downtime: Anyone who wants laser-level skin renewal but can only afford 3 to 7 days of mild redness and flaking (similar to a moderate sunburn) rather than extended recovery.

Who Should Avoid or Be Cautious:

  • Active Skin Infections or Acne: Active breakouts or open wounds need to heal before laser application.

  • Deeper Skin Tones (Fitzpatrick V–VI): Certain types of pixel lasers carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation; a qualified practitioner must assess suitability and adjust settings or recommend alternative treatments like Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling.

  • Recent Tanners or Retinoid Users: Skin must be free of recent sun exposure, and topical retinoids/Accutane must be paused prior to treatment.

Pixel Laser Downtime Quick Guide

Expect 3 to 7 days of mild-to-moderate social downtime (feels and looks like a bad sunburn).

Recovery Timeline

  • Day 1 (Sunburn Phase): Redness, swelling, and a hot, tight feeling. Keep skin constantly covered in heavy healing ointment (e.g., Aquaphor).

  • Days 2–3 (Bronzing Phase): Heat drops, but skin turns bronzed and feels rough like sandpaper. Keep cleansing gently and moisturizing heavily. Do not pick.

  • Days 4–7 (Peeling Phase): Skin naturally flakes off to reveal fresh, smoother skin underneath. Continue moisturizing and start daily zinc-based SPF 30+.

Do’s and Dont’s

  • DO: Keep skin continuously moisturized, wear mineral sunscreen, and sleep elevated on 2 pillows for the first 2 nights.

  • DON'T: Pick or scratch flaking skin, use active ingredients (retinoids, acids) for 7–10 days, or sweat/use hot tubs for 3–5 days.

Benefits of multiple sessions include the improvement of fine lines and wrinkles, repair of sun-damaged skin, reduction of age spots, blemishes, acne scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation (such as dark patches or uneven pigmentation), and various other skin irregularities.
